DVDMON.com was registered on May 13, 1999.
Currently, the majority of DVDMON.com's content is in its DVD reviews. These reviews are served
from a database for quick access and are completely searchable, and categorized into multiple genres. In addition,
each review also displays links to partnering DVD retailers to purchase the reviewed item.
Each DVD review is also linked to their corresponding entry in the Internet Movie Database, where one can find a vast
amount of information about
just about any film made, as well as to the Movie review Query Engine, a database of published reviews for many movies.
In November, 1999 DVDMon.com began partnering with Avantgo.com to provide channel content - a version of
DVDMON.com for users of PDA's such as the Palm Pilot or Windows CE devices.
On December 6, 1999, DVDMon.com got its first award - DVDFile.com's Site of the Week!
Reviews are currently written by a team of reviewers (detailed on the Reviewers
Page). All of the programming of the site has been done by its Webmaster, Levi Wallach.
The audience of DVDMon.com is mostly from the United States and Canada, though non-North American Hits make
up almost 10% of the total site traffic. Site traffic has grown substantially over its existence, and
continues to increase, but as of the beginning of September, 2004, DVDMON.com currently gets about 100,000 page
views per month. DVDMON.com is well positioned on search engines and typically receives
between 1500 referrals per week from as many as a dozen different search engines.
